Australian boxing has been shove into shock after the death of 27-year-old fighter Dwight Ritchie during a routine dispute session.

The father of three beautiful daughters, who twice survived cancer as a baby, collapsed after taking a body shot from Michael Zerafa – who he was assisting in the build-up to the light-middleweight star’s Jeff Horn rematch.

‘Dwight will be remembered for his tenacious fighting style and as one of the bravest warriors of his generation.’

Ritchie’s final fight was a unanimous decision defeat to countryman Tim Tszyu in August, as he missed out on the IBF Australasian Super Welter Title

Tszyu wrote on social media: ‘Today we lost a champion both in and out of the ring.

‘As one big family (group) we are all shattered, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Ritchie family as we all take a moment to remember a great warrior and champion. Gone too soon.’
